Who has the best average?

Recently, 10 year old French Champion Timoko has completed his 100th start by winning the Prix de Washington in Paris-Enghien. It was his 35th victory. Timoko, who is no longer allowed to start as an eleven-year-old in France next year, but is planed to move to Björn Goop to Sweden in the case of permanent health, could actually still succeed in replacing Italian champion Varenne as the most winning trotter of all times (despite all currency fluctuations). Currently, he is targeting the 5 million Euro mark, Varenne stands at 6,038,408 Euros (appr. 6,8 million USD).

But that is not what we want to find out. We want to list the world´s top trotters which were most often admired in the winner circle.

If Timoko has a winning score of "only" 35 percent, other champions have a far higher average. We offer a selection down to a winning average of 60% without claim to completeness (if you discover any other champion, do not hesitate to write us under contact). For the sake of fairness, however, we would like to include only the trotters in our list, which competed not only in their home country (e.g. the 1932 born Greyhound has a percentage of 86,6%, but started only in North America as well as the 2006 born Muscle Hill with a percentage of 95% winning 20 of his 21 Starts) but also internationally. And, of course there may be certain inconsistencies due to a diverging number of starts (for example Fresh Yankee with 191 Starts only on the highest level, Malabar Man on the other hand with only 31 Starts, etc).
